Saugus Map Poster & Print
Saugus lies in Essex County, Massachusetts, a short drive north of Boston. The Saugus River winds through the town and widens into salt marsh toward the coast. On the map its looping course separates neighbourhoods and opens a large area of wetland in the south. Residential streets fill the rest of the town, a mix of older grids and later curving subdivisions.
Saugus is home to the Saugus Iron Works National Historic Site, which preserves the site of an ironworks founded in the 1640s, the first integrated ironworks in North America. In the north of town, Breakheart Reservation adds a large area of forest and ponds, while Route 1 runs through as a busy commercial corridor lined with long-established restaurants and shops.
A Saugus map poster brings those layers together: the tidal river and marsh, the wooded reservation, the dense residential streets and the straight line of the highway. It is a portrait of a New England town that holds colonial history, suburban life and wild green space within a single boundary.
