Ring road loop
The compact ring road forms an almost closed shape around the centre. It is the clearest single feature of the map and instantly recognisable to anyone from the town.

Mapa
Stourbridge Map Poster & Print
Stourbridge sits on the southwestern edge of the West Midlands conurbation. On a map, its most unmistakable feature is the ring road, a small, tight loop around the town centre that locals know well. Inside it, the old high street and market streets are packed together. Outside it, Victorian terraces and interwar suburbs spread out toward Wollaston, Pedmore and the green belt.
The River Stour and the Stourbridge Canal curve along the northern side of town, and industry once lined both. For centuries the area was known for glassmaking, and Stourbridge glass became a name in its own right. The canal is still there, and so is a clear line of old industrial sites along the water.
The Stourbridge Town branch line connects the centre to the main line at Stourbridge Junction, and it is often described as the shortest branch line in Britain. The Stourbridge Lion, one of the first steam locomotives to run in the United States, was also built here. A Stourbridge map poster keeps all these threads in one frame.

Canal and river
The Stourbridge Canal and the River Stour run along the north of the town. Two thin, flowing lines trace the old glassmaking district.
Short branch line
The brief rail link between the town and Stourbridge Junction appears as a tiny, straight stroke. It is a well-known curiosity of British railways.
