Mapa
Sundern Map Poster & Print
Sundern is a town in the Hochsauerlandkreis, in the Sauerland region of North Rhine-Westphalia, an area of forested hills, narrow valleys and reservoirs. The town itself follows the valley of the Röhr, with streets fitted into the flatter ground and the hills rising steeply around them. Its municipal area is large and includes a number of villages scattered through the surrounding countryside.
The most striking feature on the map is the Sorpesee, a reservoir created by damming the Sorpe valley, north of the town centre. Its shape is long and irregular, with arms reaching into side valleys, and it is popular for sailing, swimming and walking. Roads and paths trace its shoreline, and forest fills much of the remaining space.
A Sundern map poster pairs a compact valley town with one of the Sauerland's best-known lakes. In black and white, the water becomes a bold, organic shape, while the town's streets and the winding hill roads provide fine detail. It is a composition shaped by nature, where valleys and water decide where the lines can go.
