Crescent estates
Much of the town is built around curving crescents and cul-de-sacs. Together they create a looping, organic street pattern.

Mapa
Tadley Map Poster & Print
Tadley lies in north Hampshire, close to the Berkshire border, between Basingstoke and Reading. Most of the town grew in the second half of the twentieth century. Its map is a series of cul-de-sacs and crescents built around an older linear village, with patches of common land and heath left between the estates.
The town's growth is closely tied to the Atomic Weapons Establishment at Aldermaston, whose large, fenced site lies just to the north. To the south and west, Pamber Forest and other woodland form a green boundary. That makes Tadley an unusually well-defined settlement, surrounded by open land on almost every side.
A Tadley map poster captures this compact, enclosed shape. The curving estate roads form a detailed centre, the commons and woods leave soft gaps, and the large research site and surrounding forest create broad, quiet margins.

Aldermaston site
The large AWE site on the northern edge shows up as an extensive block of land with few roads, sharply defining the town's boundary.
Pamber Forest
Ancient woodland to the south forms a broad green edge. On the map it gives the town a natural frame of open space.
