Taşucu is a coastal town in the Silifke district of Mersin province, on Turkey's southern Mediterranean coast. Its harbour is the defining feature, known for ferry and fast-boat connections across the sea to northern Cyprus. On a map, piers and breakwaters reach out from a straight shoreline, and the town's streets run parallel to the coast before climbing inland.
To the east lies the Göksu delta, a wide flat wetland where the river reaches the sea. Its lagoons and channels make a very different pattern from the tidy town blocks. Holiday flats and hotels line the waterfront, and the inland side gives way to orchards, greenhouses and rocky slopes typical of the Mersin coast.
