Planned street layout
Broad curving streets and evenly spaced residential blocks show the town's post-war design. They look distinctly modern next to older Bavarian towns.

Mapa
Traunreut Map Poster & Print
Traunreut is in the Chiemgau region of Upper Bavaria, between Lake Chiemsee and the river Traun. It is one of Bavaria's younger towns. It was founded after the Second World War on the site of a former munitions plant, and refugees and displaced people from Central and Eastern Europe settled here. A large household appliances factory has been a major employer for decades.
Because it was planned instead of growing slowly, Traunreut looks different on a map from the medieval towns around it. There is no dense old core. Instead, streets curve in broad arcs through residential districts, with generous green spaces and a clearly defined centre. Forest surrounds much of the town, and some of the former plant's layout still shows through in the outline.
A Traunreut map poster suits families whose story began in post-war resettlement, people who work or grew up in the Chiemgau, and anyone interested in planned towns. It shows a deliberately designed place, wrapped in woodland, in the foothills of the Alps.

Surrounding forest
Woodland borders much of the town and gives the map a clean edge. It also hints at the site's earlier use as a sheltered industrial area.
Industrial zone
Large factory buildings form a regular, heavier area on the map, reflecting the manufacturing that has anchored Traunreut's economy.
