Mapa
Vicksburg Map Poster & Print
Vicksburg stands on high loess bluffs on the east side of the lower Mississippi valley. Its setting is unusual for the region: instead of flat delta land, the map shows ridges and deep ravines, and streets that follow the tops of the hills or curve down between them toward the waterfront.
The city is known above all for the Siege of Vicksburg, which ended with the Confederate surrender on 4 July 1863 and gave the Union control of the Mississippi. The Vicksburg National Military Park now wraps around the north and east of the city, and its winding tour road draws a long loop across the map.
The river itself has moved. The Mississippi changed course in 1876, and today the waterfront faces the Yazoo Diversion Canal, with the main channel beyond. A Vicksburg map poster shows these layers clearly: an old downtown grid on the bluff, suburbs spreading over the hills, and broad water sweeping past to the west.

Bluff-top downtown
The historic centre sits in a tight grid on the bluff above the waterfront, a regular pattern that contrasts sharply with the curving hill streets around it.
River and canal
To the west, the Yazoo Diversion Canal and the Mississippi beyond form wide bands of water, with river bridges crossing toward Louisiana and a flat floodplain on the far side.

Zašto Vicksburg
Mapa koja nešto znači
Vicksburg matters to people for many reasons: family roots in Mississippi, an interest in Civil War history, or a stop on a trip along the river. A map of its bluffs and bends keeps that connection in a quiet, graphic form.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a meaningful date, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand suit the historic character of the city.
