Ring and spoke plan
Concentric roads circle the centre and are crossed by radial avenues. This gives Yala a web-like pattern that is immediately recognisable and rare among Thai towns.

Mapa
Yala Map Poster & Print
Yala, in Thailand's far south, is unusual among provincial towns because its plan is clearly visible from the air. Streets ring the centre in concentric circles and are crossed by roads that radiate outward like spokes. The result is often compared to a spider's web. The Pattani River curves along the edge of the town, and forested hills and plantations rise beyond it.
The town has long been cited in Thailand as an example of careful urban planning, with wide roads, public parks and a clean, ordered centre. It has repeatedly been recognised for its layout and upkeep. The province itself has a large Malay Muslim population, and its culture reflects both Thai and Malay traditions.
A Yala map poster makes the most of a rare design. Few towns anywhere have such a clear geometric core. The rings and spokes show up immediately in black and white, and the river and irregular outer districts soften the edges. It is one of the most graphic small-city maps you can hang.

Pattani River edge
The river bends along one side of town. It adds a natural curve that contrasts with the precise geometry of the planned streets.
Parks and open space
Public green spaces and wide road reserves break up the built fabric. They reflect the planning intentions behind the layout and give the map room to breathe.
