Yauri is the capital of Espinar Province in Peru's Cuzco Department, and it is often simply called Espinar. The town sits on the high Andean plateau, close to four thousand metres above sea level, where the ground opens into broad grassland rather than steep valleys. From above, the settlement looks like a tight cluster of blocks set down on a large, mostly empty surface.
The street pattern follows the usual layout of Andean provincial towns: a rectilinear grid of short blocks built around a central square, thinning out at the edges into looser plots and unpaved tracks. Around it the map gets quiet very quickly. Only a few roads, small watercourses and scattered buildings break up the open plateau, so the town reads as a single dense shape with plenty of white space around it.
That contrast is what makes a Yauri map poster work. The dark, even texture of the town's streets sits against the pale emptiness of the puna, and the roads leaving town draw thin lines toward the rest of the province. The Espinar area is also known for large-scale copper mining nearby, which has shaped the town's growth and its economy over recent decades.

The town sits on the altiplano at close to four thousand metres. Wide grassland surrounds it, leaving large open areas on the map that let the street network stand out clearly.

A few roads run out of town across the plateau, linking Yauri with the rest of Espinar Province and the wider south of Peru. They show up as long, clean lines leading off the page.
