Lewoleba is the principal town of Lembata, an island in the Solor archipelago of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. On a map it lies on the western shore of a wide, sheltered bay. Its streets run parallel to the waterline and then fan out onto the lower slopes behind. The harbour and the coastal road give the town its main orientation.
Across the bay stands the peninsula of Ile Ape and its volcano, which is one of the most recognisable shapes in the view from town. Lewoleba is the administrative centre of Lembata Regency and the main link between the island's villages and ferries to Flores and other islands. Beyond the town, roads thin out into dry hills and scattered coastal settlements.
