Channelview Map Poster
Channelview is an unincorporated community in Harris County, east of Houston. Its name points to its setting: the Houston Ship Channel runs along its southern side, and the San Jacinto River borders it to the east. Interstate 10 crosses the area from west to east, cutting a strong straight line through the middle of the map.
Much of the area is industrial, so the map mixes suburban cul-de-sacs with the large geometric blocks of petrochemical plants, tank farms and rail sidings. Between them, winding bayous and patches of wetland break up the pattern. Residential streets tend to be curved and inward-facing, while the plant sites are wide and rectilinear.
