Granger is an unincorporated community in St. Joseph County, Indiana, northeast of South Bend and north of Mishawaka, just south of the Michigan state line. It grew mainly as a residential suburb in recent decades, and the map shows this clearly. There are few old streets and many curving subdivisions spread across former farmland.
A loose grid of section-line roads, inherited from the rural survey, frames the area in large squares. Inside those squares, neighbourhoods are drawn in loops, crescents and cul-de-sacs around ponds, golf courses and patches of woodland. Commercial strips gather along the busiest roads, and the rest of the land is almost entirely residential.
