Hendek sits in the eastern part of Sakarya Province, on the corridor between Adapazarı and Düzce. From above, the town is a dense core of short, irregular streets, and the rural roads leading out of it thin into narrow lines across rolling, partly forested ground. The main east–west transport routes of northwestern Turkey pass close by, and on a map they read as long, confident strokes next to the town's finer texture.
The countryside around Hendek is known for hazelnut orchards, a crop that defines much of the Black Sea hinterland. In black and white, that farmland shows up as open space broken by field tracks and scattered hamlets. Where the land rises toward the wooded hills, the roads start to curve, and the drawing changes from a grid into something looser and more organic.
