Jacutinga is a town in the south of Minas Gerais, close to the border with São Paulo state. It is known nationally for its knitwear industry, with many small factories and shops producing and selling knitted clothing, which draws buyers from across Brazil.
The landscape around the town is hilly, with coffee plantations and pastures on the surrounding slopes. On the map, the town centre forms a compact grid on the more level ground, while outer neighbourhoods climb the hillsides in irregular streets that follow the terrain.
