Sierpc Map Poster
Sierpc is a town in northern Mazovia, in central Poland, about halfway between Płock and Mława. On a map it has a compact historic centre with a market square, surrounded by later residential areas and edged by the gentle curves of the Sierpienica river, which gives the town a soft natural boundary.
The town's layout grew over centuries around a medieval core, with main roads leading out to neighbouring towns across the flat Mazovian plain. Sierpc is known for the Museum of the Mazovian Countryside, an open-air museum where historic farmhouses, windmills and village buildings have been reassembled on the edge of town.
