Ahmedgarh Map Poster & Print
Ahmedgarh is a town in the Indian state of Punjab, on the road between Ludhiana and Malerkotla, in the region known as Malwa. The land here is almost perfectly flat, and from above the town appears as a dense cluster of streets surrounded by farmland in every direction. Main roads cross near the centre, and a railway line passes through the town.
The fields around Ahmedgarh are divided into long rectangles by canals, channels and field boundaries, one of the most regular agricultural patterns in India. This geometry fills most of the map beyond the town. An Ahmedgarh map poster shows the dense core and the ruled lines of the countryside together, which gives the image a strong, graphic structure.
Inside the town, streets are tighter and less regular, with markets, lanes and residential areas grown up around the main roads. This contrast between the organic centre and the surveyed farmland is typical of Punjab's market towns, and it translates well into black and white. The result is a clear, honest portrait of a working town on the plain.
