Alto Alegre do Pindaré Map Poster & Print
Alto Alegre do Pindaré is in western Maranhão, in the basin of the Pindaré River. From above, it is a modest town of straight streets on low, gently undulating land. The built-up area is fairly compact, and roads leave in several directions into the farmland and pasture that make up most of the municipality.
It is a relatively young municipality, created as settlement spread across this part of Maranhão. Its layout is practical rather than historic, with a simple street grid, a main road through town and residential blocks around it. The river valley and the remaining patches of vegetation give the surrounding country its shape.
An Alto Alegre do Pindaré map poster is a portrait of an interior Brazilian town without embellishment. The grid of the centre and the long rural roads make a clear, uncluttered image, and the open space around the town lets the street pattern stand on its own.
