Araguaia River
One of central Brazil's great rivers sweeps past the town. Its broad channel, with its islands and bends, fills much of the poster with open water.

Araguatins Map Poster & Print
Araguatins lies on the left bank of the Araguaia River in the far north of Tocantins, in the region known as Bico do Papagaio. The river dominates the map: a wide, curving band of water with islands and sandbars, and the town's grid of streets packed along its bank.
During the dry season, the falling Araguaia exposes long sandy beaches, which draw visitors from across the region. On a map, the river's width and its scattered islands give the composition a loose, organic shape that contrasts with the straight blocks of the town next to it.
An Araguatins map poster is really a portrait of a town and its river. The water takes up much of the frame, and the waterfront streets form a dense edge, while roads lead inland across open country. The scale of the Araguaia makes the design striking even though the town itself is modest in size.

Riverbank grid
The town's streets are laid out close to the water. They form a compact, regular block pattern that faces the river along its eastern side.
Inland roads
Roads leave the town toward the interior of Tocantins, drawing long, sparse lines across the savanna and farmland beyond the urban edge.
