Arapoti lies in the Campos Gerais of Paraná, a region of rolling grassland and farmland in southern Brazil. On a map the town is a clear grid of blocks, with the older centre and newer neighbourhoods spreading along the main roads. Beyond the last streets, the frame opens into large fields and stream valleys.
The municipality is known for the Dutch immigrants who settled here in the mid twentieth century and helped build its dairy and grain cooperatives. Agriculture and forestry still shape the local economy. From above you see the result: a tidy urban core surrounded by long, geometric plots of cultivated land.
