Artesia Map Poster & Print
Artesia is one of the smallest cities in Los Angeles County, about a square and a half miles of low-rise streets between Cerritos, Norwalk and Bellflower. It takes its name from the artesian wells that once made this part of the basin good dairy and farming land.
From above, it is a classic Southern California grid. Wide arterials frame the city, and quieter residential blocks fill the squares between them. An Artesia map poster shows that regularity clearly, along with the heavy line of the 91 freeway crossing the north end and the boulevards that link Artesia to the cities around it.
Pioneer Boulevard is the main north–south street, known for the shops, restaurants and sari stores that give the area its name as Little India. On the map it is simply one strong line through the centre, but it holds the city together, and many residents would recognise it straight away.

Freeway edge
State Route 91 cuts across the northern part of the city in a broad band, a hard, straight line against the softer grid of residential blocks.
Small, exact grid
Because Artesia is so compact, the whole city fits comfortably on one sheet, a neat patchwork of blocks with clear edges on every side.
