Ashkez̄ar Map Poster & Print
Ashkez̄ar lies in Yazd Province in central Iran, on the dry plain north-west of the city of Yazd. The surrounding land is arid, and from above the town appears as a defined patch of streets and cultivated plots within a broad, empty setting. The contrast between the settled area and the open desert is one of the strongest features of its map.
Like many towns in this region, Ashkez̄ar developed around a supply of water in a dry climate, and cultivated land sits close to the houses. Older quarters tend to have narrower, more irregular lanes, while newer districts are laid out along straighter streets. Main roads connect the town to Yazd and to neighbouring settlements across the plain.
An Ashkez̄ar map poster shows how a desert town organises itself: dense where people live, sparse where the land stays dry. In monochrome, the pattern becomes clear and graphic, with the street network standing out against the pale ground around it.
