The Meghna
The wide river runs along the town's western side and fills much of the map with open water, channels and sandbars. Its shape shifts with the seasons, and on paper it reads as a strong, sweeping form.

Ashuganj City Map Poster & Print
Ashuganj stands on the east bank of the Meghna, one of the great rivers of Bangladesh. From above, the water dominates. The broad channel, sandbars and smaller branches take up much of the frame, and the town sits along the bank as a dense strip of streets, jetties and industrial ground.
The town is best known as an energy and industrial centre. A large power station and fertiliser works occupy big, geometric sites near the river. Road and rail bridges cross the Meghna towards Bhairab on the opposite bank, making this one of the key crossings between the east of the country and Dhaka.
An Ashuganj City map poster is mostly about water and the lines that cross it. The river's curves, the straight lines of the bridges and the tight grain of the riverside settlement create a clear contrast. It is a map of a crossing point, a place defined by the river it serves.

Bridges to Bhairab
Road and rail bridges span the Meghna and link Ashuganj to Bhairab on the far bank. They appear as sharp straight lines across the curving water.
Riverside industry
The power station and industrial plants occupy large, regular plots close to the river. Their outlines are much bolder than the fine pattern of the surrounding streets.
