Bardsīr lies on the high plateau of Kerman Province in southeastern Iran, a region of wide dry valleys framed by mountain ranges. From above, the town is a compact cluster of streets with a few main roads running out of it in different directions. Around the edge, cultivated plots and orchards show up as a finer grid before the open land takes over.
The area has long depended on careful use of water, which is common across the Iranian plateau. You can see it in the way farmland gathers close to the settlement. The town is a regional centre for the surrounding countryside, and the mountains to the south give it cooler weather than the lowland deserts further east.
