Biharamulo is a district town in Tanzania's Kagera Region, in the rolling uplands southwest of Lake Victoria. On the map the town is modest in size, a loose network of streets set on raised ground. Its main roads run out across a landscape of low hills, woodland and cultivated plots rather than into any large urban sprawl.
The town has long served as a local administrative centre. Much of the surrounding woodland is protected, and the former Biharamulo Game Reserve now forms part of Burigi-Chato National Park. From above, this setting shows as a quiet, green-grey field around the settlement, broken by winding tracks and the occasional stream valley running between the hills.
