Scattered neighbourhoods
Butiá's districts form separate clusters instead of one dense core. On the poster they appear as distinct patches of streets linked by longer roads.

Butiá Map Poster & Print
Butiá lies in the lower Jacuí region of Rio Grande do Sul, a landscape of low hills and farmland west of Porto Alegre. On a map, the town has an irregular layout. Several neighbourhoods grew around separate points, and they are joined by roads that follow the terrain. The result is a looser, more scattered pattern than a single planned grid.
Coal mining shaped Butiá's history. The region sits on one of the coal basins of southern Brazil, and mining communities and infrastructure influenced how the town developed. Traces of this activity remain in the landscape and in local memory, alongside farming and other industries that have taken on a larger role.
A Butiá map poster reflects this layered growth. Clusters of streets appear across the frame, linked by curving roads, with open ground between them. Unlike a tight town centre, the design has a spread-out, almost archipelago-like quality, which gives it a character of its own.

Mining landscape
The town grew with the coal industry of the Jacuí basin. That history is part of why its settlement pattern is spread out rather than compact.
Rolling terrain
Low hills shape the roads, which bend and curve between neighbourhoods. The linework has a soft, flowing quality at larger print sizes.
