Campina Grande Map Poster & Print
Campina Grande lies on the Borborema plateau in the interior of Paraíba, in Brazil's Northeast. Its elevation gives it a milder climate than the coast, and its layout reflects its growth as a trading town on the routes between the coast and the sertão. Roads radiate from the centre, and the urban area has expanded outward in all directions across rolling ground.
The city's best-known map feature is the Açude Velho, an old reservoir right beside the centre, now surrounded by a promenade and public spaces. Campina Grande is also famous for its São João celebrations in June, promoted as the largest in the world, and for its universities and technology sector.
A Campina Grande map poster centres on that reservoir, a clear open shape among dense streets. Around it, the older blocks of the centre give way to a spreading network of neighbourhoods, with main avenues stretching outward like spokes toward the surrounding highlands.
