Catumbela Map Poster & Print
Catumbela lies on the Atlantic coast of Angola's Benguela Province, between the cities of Benguela and Lobito. From above, the town stretches along the lower course of the Catumbela River. Green, cultivated land along the river contrasts with the drier ground around it, and the main coastal road and the railway cross the river here, linking the two larger cities.
The Benguela Railway, which runs inland from the port of Lobito, passes through Catumbela, and the town is also home to the Catumbela Airport, which serves the wider Benguela–Lobito area. Its position between the two cities has made it part of a growing coastal urban corridor.
A Catumbela map poster shows how the river organises the town. The watercourse curves toward the sea, the settlement lines its banks, and the long runway of the airport forms a sharp, straight shape nearby. Roads and rail cutting across the river valley tie the composition into the larger coastal region.
