The Central Coast of New South Wales lies between Sydney and Newcastle, with the Hawkesbury River at its southern edge. On the map it does not look like one city at all. It is a series of towns spread around large coastal lakes, a long line of beaches and national parks. Areas of forested land sit between the built-up districts.
