Grand Canal
The ancient waterway crosses the city as a broad, continuous line. An older course runs through the centre, and a newer, wider route to the south carries modern shipping.

Changzhou Map Poster & Print
Changzhou lies on the flat, water-rich plain of southern Jiangsu, between Nanjing and Shanghai, and water shapes almost every part of its map. The Beijing–Hangzhou Grand Canal passes through the city. A network of smaller channels, rivers and old moats breaks the urban area into pieces, so bridges and waterfronts appear in nearly every neighbourhood.
The historic centre lies along the older course of the canal, where streets are narrower and the water runs close to houses and lanes. Nearby, Tianning Temple is known for its pagoda, completed in 2007 and one of the tallest in the world. Further out, straighter avenues lead to development zones, high-speed rail lines and newer residential districts.
The municipality extends south to the shore of Lake Tai and includes the smaller Ge Lake, while its northern districts reach the Yangtze. Between them lie flat farmland, fish ponds and villages linked by more canals. A Changzhou map poster centred on the city captures the interplay of canal and street, a pattern found across the delta but drawn distinctly here.

Canal-side lanes
In the historic core, narrow streets follow smaller waterways and old moats. Their fine, curving grain contrasts with the straight roads of the newer districts.
Lakes to the south
Ge Lake and the northern shore of Lake Tai give the wider municipality large areas of open water, shown as calm light or dark shapes depending on the style.
