Crespo lies in the west of Entre Ríos province, on the gently rolling land between the Paraná river and the interior of the province. From above, it shows the classic Argentine plan: a regular checkerboard of square blocks centred on a main plaza, with streets that meet at right angles and extend in all directions until they reach the fields.
The town is known nationally as a centre of poultry farming and has long claimed the title of Argentina's national poultry capital. Many of its founding families came from the Volga German communities who settled in this part of Entre Ríos. On the map, long rectangular farm buildings and rural plots surround the grid, drawing their own geometric pattern.
