Dhamas is in the Gedo region of south-western Somalia, in dry lowland country near the borders with Kenya and Ethiopia. On a map, the settlement is a small group of streets and compounds surrounded by wide, open land. A few tracks lead out from it in different directions and connect it with other towns and grazing areas.
