Dharmkot is a town in Moga district in Punjab, on the broad alluvial plain south of the Sutlej. The land is level and intensively farmed, so on the map the town appears as a compact, dense cluster set against a wide pattern of fields stretching in every direction.
At the centre the streets are narrow and closely packed, following an older, irregular layout typical of Punjabi towns that grew around a market. Toward the outskirts the streets become wider and straighter, and roads leave town to link it with neighbouring villages and larger centres such as Moga. Irrigation channels cross the farmland in long, measured lines.
