Diéhiba is in the Montagnes district of western Côte d'Ivoire. This is a region of forested hills and farmland, quite different from the flat coast and the northern savanna. The hills and the old forest cover shape much of the landscape, and the land is widely farmed with crops such as cocoa, coffee and food plots.
From above, the town appears as a group of streets and compounds where several roads meet. Unpaved tracks lead out from it through the surrounding plantations and forest toward smaller villages. There is little strict geometry. The streets follow the ground and old paths, so the town has a loose, organic shape that fits the rolling land.
