Dundalk Map Poster & Print
Dundalk is the county town of Louth, roughly halfway between Dublin and Belfast. It lies at the head of Dundalk Bay, where the Castletown River meets the sea. On a map, the town centre gathers close to the river and harbour, while newer estates spread out over the flat land beyond.
To the north, the Cooley Peninsula rises into hills and mountains. This landscape is closely tied to the old Irish sagas of Cú Chulainn, who is associated with the Dundalk area. The main road and railway between Dublin and Belfast pass through the town, which has long been important as a crossing point in the northeast of Ireland.
A Dundalk map poster shows a town between the sea and the hills. The open bay, the estuary of the river and the tight streets of the centre create a composition that is balanced and easy to read. It suits anyone who has lived in Louth or who knows Dundalk as the stopping point between Ireland's two main cities.
