Frederick Map Poster & Print
Frederick lies in central Maryland, between Baltimore, Washington and the mountains of western Maryland. From above, the historic downtown forms a compact grid of streets. Carroll Creek runs through it, landscaped as a linear park with walkways and bridges. Around the old centre, highways such as I-70, I-270 and US 15 form a wide frame.
The city is known for the church spires that rise over the downtown and for its well-preserved historic district. Francis Scott Key, who wrote the words of the national anthem, is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery here. Barbara Fritchie, who became a legend of the Civil War, is also remembered in Frederick.
A Frederick map poster shows a layered American city. At its heart, the historic grid and creek park are fine and detailed. Beyond them, newer suburbs and the sweeping lines of the highways fill out the frame. In black and white, the old centre sits in the middle like a carefully drawn core.
