Gama is one of the administrative regions of Brazil's Federal District. It was laid out in the early 1960s as one of the satellite towns built to house workers and families alongside the new capital. On a map it reads as a deliberate composition. Numbered sectors, residential blocks and commercial strips are arranged to a plan rather than grown over time, and you can see that clearly at poster scale.
The urban core sits on a plateau surrounded by cerrado savanna, small streams and agricultural land. Arterial roads link it northeast toward central Brasília and south toward the border with Goiás. Between the built sectors, open green spaces and sports grounds leave gaps in the dense street pattern. In black and white, those gaps become quiet pauses between the blocks.
A Gama map poster shows how Brasília's planning ideas were carried outward from the Pilot Plan into the towns around it. The city is also known across the Federal District for its football club, Sociedade Esportiva do Gama. For many residents that club is as much a part of local identity as the neighbourhood sectors they grew up in.
