Wetland setting
Ciénagas and marshes surround the town. On the poster they form broad, irregular shapes that give the landscape its character and change with the seasons.

Guamal Map Poster & Print
Guamal is in the Magdalena Department of northern Colombia, in the low, water-rich country near the Magdalena River. The land around it is flat and marked by ciénagas, shallow lakes and marshes that expand and shrink with the seasons. From above, the town is a compact cluster of streets on firmer ground within this wet landscape.
The street plan is simple and fairly regular, centred on a main square with blocks spreading out a short way in each direction. Beyond them, tracks and small roads cross the plain toward nearby villages and landing points on the water. Channels and wetland edges shape the land more than any road does.
A Guamal map poster shows the relationship between a river town and the water around it. The small grid of streets sits inside a large composition of irregular lakes and winding channels. In black and white, that contrast is clear: a neat centre surrounded by soft, flowing shapes.

Compact town grid
A small, regular grid around the central square holds the town together. It appears as a firm, orderly cluster within the fluid lowland around it.
