Guntakal Map Poster & Print
Guntakal lies in the western part of Andhra Pradesh, in the dry, rocky country of the Rayalaseema region. On a map, the railway organises the town. Several lines meet here, and the tracks, yards and railway colonies take up a surprising share of the urban area. Homes and markets fill the spaces between the lines, and the plateau opens out on every side.
Guntakal is one of the best-known junctions in southern India and the headquarters of a railway division. Routes lead towards Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and the west, and for generations local families have worked on the railway. Around the town the landscape is scrubland, granite outcrops and fields that depend on the monsoon, with small villages scattered between them.
A Guntakal map poster is a railway map in all but name. The converging tracks form strong diagonal lines across the street pattern, and the long, open rail yards cross the centre as calm bands. It makes a thoughtful gift for railway families and for anyone who remembers changing trains here on a long journey.

Railway colonies
Planned housing for railway staff sits beside the lines in neat, regular blocks. The pattern is more ordered than the older streets of the town.
Open plateau
Beyond the town, the map empties into dry farmland and scattered villages. Only roads and tracks cross the flat country towards distant towns.
