Guyong is a barangay in Santa Maria, Bulacan, on the low plain north of Metro Manila. The land is flat, and the map shows the typical mix of this part of Central Luzon. Planned subdivisions with their own small grids sit next to older roadside settlements and open fields.
Growth in this area follows the roads. The provincial routes are lined with houses and shops, and new residential developments are filling in the land between them. Rice fields and fishponds still cover much of the surrounding ground, so the built-up area has an uneven edge.
