Higuerote Map Poster & Print
Higuerote is on the Caribbean coast of Miranda State in the Barlovento region of Venezuela, east of Caracas. It is a long-standing weekend and holiday destination for people from the capital. The town follows a wide curve of beach, and the coastal plain behind it is low and wet, crossed by rivers, lagoons and mangrove-lined channels.
Barlovento has deep Afro-Venezuelan roots and is known for its drumming traditions, especially during the festivities of San Juan. Around Higuerote, marinas and residential canals have been cut into the flat land, adding waterways with straight edges to the natural ones. Cabo Codera, a rugged headland, rises to the northwest.
A Higuerote map poster brings together the open sea, a long sandy curve, and a maze of inland water, some natural and some engineered. In black and white the canals look almost like a drawing, while the older town streets form a denser block near the shore. The result is a coastal map with unusual layers.

Marina canals
Residential canals and marinas cut into the coastal plain form precise, finger-like waterways that are clearly visible from above.
Lagoons and wetlands
Behind the town, rivers and lagoons wander through low ground, adding irregular natural shapes next to the engineered channels.
