Hong Lok Yuen Map Poster & Print
Hong Lok Yuen is a residential estate in the Tai Po district of Hong Kong's New Territories, lying near the roads and rail line between Tai Po and Fanling. Unlike the high-rise towers that define much of the city, it consists mostly of low-rise houses set along curving lanes and cul-de-sacs, and on a map the estate appears as a loose, organic pattern among wooded hills.
The contrast with its surroundings is striking. Just beyond the estate, dense new-town blocks, major highways and the railway draw sharp, heavy lines, while Hong Lok Yuen itself is made of thin, looping streets and small plots. The estate is also home to an international school campus, which adds to its character as a quiet, family-oriented enclave within the district.
A Hong Lok Yuen map poster emphasises this unusual texture. The winding roads and scattered houses read almost like a garden plan, framed by green hillsides left mostly blank in the drawing. In black and white, it offers an unexpected view of Hong Kong, one that shows how varied the city becomes once you move away from the harbour.

Low-rise houses
Detached and semi-detached houses on small plots create a fine, scattered texture, very different from the dense blocks of nearby new towns and highways.
Wooded hillsides
Green slopes surround the estate and appear as open space on the map, framing the residential lanes and separating them from surrounding developments.
