Ibatiba Map Poster & Print
Ibatiba is in the mountainous interior of Espírito Santo, in southeastern Brazil. It is a region of rolling highlands and small agricultural towns. From above, the town does not follow a grid. Streets follow the valleys and the contours of the hills, bending and branching wherever the terrain allows building.
Coffee farming shapes much of this upland landscape. The countryside around the town is a patchwork of plots on the slopes, crossed by rural roads that climb and loop between properties. The town itself is compact, stretched along its valleys, and surrounded by open land.
An Ibatiba map poster shows how closely the town follows the terrain. Curving streets trace the lower ground. Side roads climb into the hills, and the built-up area thins quickly into countryside, which gives the composition an organic, branching shape rather than a set of blocks.

Climbing side roads
Short roads leave the centre and climb the slopes. They form small branches and dead ends that add fine detail at the edges.
Rural road network
Winding country roads link farms across the highlands. They carry the pattern of the map out into the surrounding landscape.
