Igunga is a district centre in Tabora Region, on the broad interior plateau of western Tanzania. The map shows a modest town laid out along its main road. A small central grid gives way to scattered homesteads, cultivated plots and open bush. The ground rolls gently, and seasonal streams drain across it, showing as faint curving lines in the surrounding landscape.
The district lives from farming and livestock, with cotton, rice and maize among the main crops. Igunga is the market and administrative hub for the surrounding villages. The road through town links it with Nzega and the wider regional network. It is a working town rather than a destination, and its map reflects that.
