Jaguaquara Map Poster & Print
Jaguaquara is a municipality in the interior of Bahia, Brazil, inland from the Atlantic coast in the region of the Jiquiriçá valley. The terrain is hilly and green, and the town reflects this. Streets curve to follow the slopes, and the built area stretches along the lower ground, while the steeper hills around it remain open.
The economy of the area is based largely on agriculture, and the surrounding farmland supplies produce to markets across Bahia. The town centre forms a denser grid of streets around its squares, while newer neighbourhoods spread along the roads that lead in and out of the municipality.
A Jaguaquara map poster emphasises the balance between the planned centre and the contour-shaped streets on its edges. In black and white, the curves of the hillside roads look almost drawn by hand. It is a quiet, precise portrait of a Brazilian interior town, the kind of place people carry with them long after moving to Salvador or São Paulo.
