Jinhua Map Poster & Print
Jinhua is the seat of Jianchuan County in the Dali region of Yunnan, and its map is shaped by the mountains around it. The town occupies a flat stretch of valley floor, where streets form a fairly regular pattern of blocks, while roads follow the valley north and south. Farmland fills the rest of the basin before the slopes rise steeply on either side.
Jianchuan is home to a large Bai community and is known in China for its traditional woodcarving. The county also contains the Shibaoshan grottoes, with Buddhist carvings from the Nanzhao and Dali kingdoms, and the old market village of Shaxi, a stop on the historic Tea Horse Road that once carried tea and goods between Yunnan and Tibet.
