Kisvárda Map Poster & Print
Kisvárda lies in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, in the far northeast of Hungary, near the borders with Ukraine and Romania. From above, the town sits on the flat Great Hungarian Plain, with a compact centre, streets radiating outward, and farmland stretching in all directions toward the Tisza river to the north.
The town is known for Kisvárda Castle, a medieval fortress whose remains stand in the town, and for its thermal spa, which draws visitors from the region. Kisvárda is also known for its theatre festival for Hungarian-language theatre companies from neighbouring countries.
A Kisvárda map poster shows the town's clear structure on the plain: the central streets, the castle grounds, the spa area and the roads and railway leading outward. In black and white, the flat landscape gives the town a crisp outline, with the surrounding fields providing a calm, open frame.
