Lagoa Real Map Poster & Print
Lagoa Real is a municipality in the south-west of Bahia, in Brazil's semi-arid interior. The urban centre is modest: a handful of streets around a central square and church, with roads leading out to rural communities and to neighbouring towns in the region. Around it, the land is open and dry for much of the year, with low vegetation, pasture and small cultivated plots.
The name is known in Brazilian geology. The Lagoa Real uranium province, one of the country's main uranium-bearing areas, takes its name from the district. Mining operations there have been part of the regional economy. In daily life, though, the town is mainly agricultural and centred on its surrounding rural communities.
A Lagoa Real map poster is a study in simplicity. The street network occupies only a small part of the frame, and the rest is taken up by tracks, seasonal watercourses and the faint geometry of fields. That openness is characteristic of the sertão, and in a clean black-and-white design it comes across as calm rather than empty.

Rural tracks
Unpaved roads leave the centre in several directions towards farms and outlying communities. They draw long, thin lines across the dry landscape.
Seasonal water
Streams and small reservoirs in the area fill and shrink with the rains. Where the map shows them, they add soft irregular shapes to the upland.

Näme üçin Lagoa Real
Many bar bolan karta
Many families from the interior of Bahia now live in Salvador, São Paulo or further away. A map of Lagoa Real keeps the home town present: the square, the familiar streets and the road out to the family land.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be personalised, for example with a surname or the year someone left. Choose Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand matches the colours of the sertão particularly well.
