Loma Linda Map Poster & Print
Loma Linda is a city in San Bernardino County in Southern California. It is closely linked to Loma Linda University and its medical centre, which are institutions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The large community of Adventists is one of the reasons the city is often cited in studies of longevity. It has been described as one of the world's Blue Zones.
From above, the city is compact. The university and medical campus occupy a large block of buildings and parking near the centre, and residential streets spread out around them. An interstate freeway runs along the northern edge. To the south the land rises into dry hills, and the street network stops against open slopes.
A Loma Linda map poster shows a place defined by its institutions and its setting. It has the mass of the campus, the neat suburban grid, the straight freeway to the north and the ragged southern edge where the city gives way to hills. In monochrome these parts combine into a balanced, readable composition.

Freeway to the north
A major interstate forms a hard northern boundary, a straight double line separating Loma Linda from its neighbours.
Southern hills
Undeveloped hills rise to the south. Streets end where the slopes begin, which leaves a wide open area along the bottom of the map.
