Los Reyes Acaquilpan is the head town of the municipality of La Paz in the State of Mexico, on the eastern edge of Greater Mexico City. From above, the city's fabric simply keeps going across the valley floor and then presses against rising ground. Small, tightly packed blocks fill almost every available space. Larger roads cut through them on their way east toward Puebla.
The town is an important transport point for the eastern suburbs. Metro Line A ends here, and the old federal highway toward Puebla runs through. These corridors appear on the map as long, confident strokes through a fine and slightly irregular grid. The grid shifts direction from one neighbourhood to the next, following the way each area was settled.
