Mountain edge
To the north, the city stops at the foot of the coastal range. The shift from dense grid to empty mountain land creates a clear top edge on the map.

Maracay Map Poster & Print
Maracay lies in the Aragua valley in north-central Venezuela, between the coastal range to the north and the plain leading to Lake Valencia to the southwest. The land is fairly flat, so the city spreads in a wide grid of blocks. To the north, the streets stop at the mountains, which are part of Henri Pittier National Park, the oldest national park in the country.
Maracay is known as the Garden City for its parks and tree-lined avenues. Much of its early twentieth-century development took place when Juan Vicente Gómez made it his base, and it is also considered the birthplace of Venezuelan aviation. The large Plaza Bolívar and the old airfield area are key features of the centre.
A Maracay map poster shows a city defined by its valley. The regular grid, the green spaces and the sharp line of the mountains at the top give it a strong structure. It is a good choice for people from Aragua who want a print that reflects the order and greenery of their city.

Valley grid
Most of the city follows a broad, regular grid across the flat valley floor. It gives the poster a calm, even texture.
Garden city parks
Parks and planted avenues break up the grid at intervals. They show up as open spaces that give the map room to breathe.
